Welcome to Riverdale High School!

The mission of Riverdale High School is empower students to be productive members in our communities who embrace diversity, model compassion, and work fervently toward academic success. 

Riverdale has a long-standing history of accomplishment having been a landmark in the community for over 60 years. Riverdale has been the only non-selective A rated high school in Jefferson Parish for the last nine years. During this time, Riverdale has also been recognized as a Top Gains and Opportunity Honoree for multiple years, a recognition given to schools that improve the academics of historically underserved student populations. Riverdale has produced Posse and Quest Bridge scholarship winners and full IB diploma recipients; future small business owners and military members; college-bound and
work-force ready graduates.

Through both academics and extracurriculars, our students are pushed to cultivate positive habits and character traits that will equip them to be successful both inside and outside of the school building. Our staff works ardently to recognize students’ individual talents and challenges, presenting competitive curricula and learning experiences to foster growth. Through these efforts and the support of our stakeholders, we look forward to continuing to impact our students and community.
